July 4th Celebrations!

Happy 4th of July from the Wakefield Family!

Clara started her day out attending our neighborhood’s 4th of July Parade.  Clara got to see a fire engine for the first time, and waved her flag in support of our troops around the world.

After a big lunch and a long nap, we all went over to Neely and Curtis’ house and enjoyed some great food and good friends.  Clara made friends with Corbin, Darcy and David’s new little one (although, he’s almost a year old).  Clara went crazy and tried to chase him everywhere he went.  Clara had a big supper, but never made it into the pool.  Surprisingly, it didn’t rain, which is kind of a first for a day this summer.

Eventually, the kids were all played out and we came home and ended a great first 4th of July for our “Clara Bear”.

Clara’s First Visit to Church

Clara made her first visit to a full service this morning.  She did really well, but the organ music did freak her out a little.  We moved into the “Cry Room” along with about a 1/2 dozen other new parents and finished the service.  Clara was an angel and really enjoys the music more than anything.  She made friends with another girl who was 12 months and had a great time.

The 4th of July service was beautiful and the church was packed.  It was amazing to see how many veterans there were in the audience.  We thank God for the service and sacrifices these men and women make for the United States.
